After seeing a similar styled guitar on the internet, I immediately knew I wanted to make one. I have always loved the stylings of a Telecaster, and the shape of a Stratocaster, and saw that by combining these, it made the ultimate finished piece – often referred to as a 'Frankencaster'.
I also wanted to highlight and accent the timber, which is New Zealand Matai, and accomplished this by contrasting it with the black pickguard.
It was a bonus that the pickups that I got for this guitar were black EMG humbuckers, which put out an amazing sound.
Originally, this guitar had a hardtail bridge, but decided I wanted to give a tremolo bridge a go. After finding out that my fourth body that I made was going to be too thin for a tremolo bridge, I decided to swap out the hard tail bridge on this one, for the tremolo on the other one.
This guitar was finished in April 2015.
